In this video I make a comparison between the Ipod Classic 5.5 and 7th generation. The Ipod Classic 7th generation is more modern and is thinner with more stoage, but I think the Ipod Classic 5.5 is better because of the dac. If you care about sound quality, you should definitely get the Ipod Classic 5.5.

I might maybe def do have one of the biggest sealed iPod collections around.
In this video, I’m showing my collection of 118 SEALED Apple iPods, plus a bunch of boxed, opened, and loose iPods I’ve collected over the years. iPod Shuffles, iPod minis, iPod nanos, Classics, Touches, different generations, colors, capacities and packaging — including some that are getting surprisingly difficult to find unopened.
The crazy part is how much condition matters.
As of 2026, even relatively common iPods can have a huge difference between used and genuinely factory-sealed examples. For example, a used 2nd-gen iPod Shuffle can sell around $20–$30, while a recent sealed example sold for about $63. eBay A used 3rd-gen iPod nano can be found around $24–$70, while a sealed 4GB example recently sold for $349. eBay
Some basic price ranges you’ll see depending heavily on generation, color, capacity and condition:
• Used iPod Shuffle: ~$15–$50+
• Sealed iPod Shuffle: ~$100–$2000+

• Used iPod nano: ~$25–$100+
• Sealed iPod nano: ~$200–$4000+, with desirable versions potentially higher
• Early/classic iPods: prices vary dramatically depending on generation, condition and whether the original packaging is present
These are only rough ranges—not every sealed iPod is automatically valuable. Original factory seals, clean packaging, rare colors, early generations, storage capacity and provenance can make a massive difference.
So the question is: should I ever open these?
With 118 still sealed, I’m keeping them that way. Every year there are fewer untouched examples left, and once a 15–25-year-old iPod is opened, it can never be factory sealed again.
In this video I go through the collection, show some of the coolest iPods I own, talk about what they're selling for, and look at whether sealed iPods could become a much bigger vintage Apple collectible in the future.

flash storage, and open-source firmware — for about $200. Here's how
it actually went.

This is a Classic Connect 2 build using the Moonlit Market kit. The
build covers hardware installation, faceplate swap, the Rockbox
firmware install, and everything that went wrong along the way —
including the 128GB storage limit on the 6th gen and a modder named
Olsro who figured out how to bypass it.
